Philanthropy at AEPI Delta Chapter
To serve the pillars and foundation that a brotherhood is built upon, it is necessary to serve others. To serve others, a fraternity must foster a sense of responsibility inherit in the men that represent it. With this philosophy in mind, the Delta Chapter has—for years—undertaken philanthropic responsibilities to better serve the Champaign-Urbana community, and make a difference.
Each semester, the chapter produces one large philanthropy event, developed and completed by the brothers, amongst smaller service projects. The charity benefited changes with each event, and each worthy cause is voted on and approved by the brothers. The events can range from sport tournaments, to tie-dying on the quad, but the goal of each event remains the same—raise awareness amongst the community about the given cause, earn money for the charity we're benefiting, and make a difference.
This year, new plans are in the works. We're looking to go bigger and better than Delta has ever seen before, but we couldn't do it without the foundation that was laid before us. The strength of this brotherhood lies in the tradition and strength we've shown, and that comes through in the events we put on. Look here for details of upcoming events and projects we run as the semester goes on.
